#607 Three-Day Oil Painting Workshop
Instructor: Hodges Soileau

The principles of painting that I use and believe are most important will be taught and
demonstrated in this workshop. Examples: good shapes, values, edges and proper temperature
of color are more important than color itself. Remaining open to the possibility of starting a painting
in a different way than before avoids becoming a formula painter. Raising ones observation skills
as they relate to principles taught will be important, stressed and demonstrated. Last but not least
is the importance of trying to have fun with paint. Painting, although difficult and
sometimes frustrating, should certainly be fun…or why do it.
