Solo Exhibition -- Wayman Brown/Oil, Watercolor & SculptureEXHIBITION REQUIREMENTS Basics: Receiving hours - 10:00am - 3:00pm. All entries for juried shows must be original work of the artists. Work previously exhibited at the VAC can not be exhibited a second time. Work more than three years old will not be acceptable. Three works will be the maximum accepted. Certain exhibits will be limited to two entries.Entry Forms: Members. $15 per piece, two for $25. Nonmembers, $20 per piece. Certain shows may have larger fees. Fees for work entered as "diptych" or "triptych" will be based per individual piece.Judging: The judge is solely responsible for all of the work selected and for all awards given. Entry fees are not refundable. All artists whose works have been eliminated by the judge will be notified by phone or mail.Pick-up: All work must be picked up on the designated pick-up date. A charge of $1.00 per day, per item will be enforced if not picked up on the designated date. Work remaining in storage after one month becomes the property of the VAC. No work selected for the exhibition can be removed or changed prior to the close of the show.Framing: Maximum width/length is 66 inches, including the frame. No glass will be accepted*. Use only plexiglass. Screw eyes and wire must be attached securely, and wiring must be at least 3 inches below the top of the frame at the hanging point to conceal the gallery hooks. All framing must be sturdy and secure. Work submitted as "diptych" or "triptych" must be identically framed. Special hanging requests may not be honored. All work must be clean, fresh, suitably matted and properly framed .Sculpture: All bases should be securely fastened to the work. Use of VAC's pedestals is preferred.Sales: A 35% commission will be charged by the VAC. Sales resulting from referrals will earn a 15% commission.Responsibility: All work will be handled with the greatest care by the VAC, but it is understood by the artists that the VAC can not be responsible for loss or damage. All work will be hung at the discretion of the VAC Exhibition Committee.Awards: Winners will be notified by phone. Winners or their representatives must be present to accept their award or monies will revert to the Venice Art Center.Withdrawal: No work accepted for an exhibit may be substituted, nor will any work be permitted to be withdrawn during the exhibit except in a most extenuating circumstance and then only with the approval of the Administrator.*Exceptions are: Invitational exhibitions or special permission of the Exhibition Committee. Glass on pastels, charcoals and graphite, 18" x 24" or smaller will be accepted if placed in a wood frames only.
