#S104 Raku and Pit Firing - Beginner or Advanced
Instructor: Amy Webber


Description: Wheel & hand building with the ancient art of Japanese glaze firing and the Southwestern techniques of pit firing. You can sign up for one or all classes as desired. This is an open class for all levels. All firing techniques will be explored as students desire.

#S105 Pottery: On and Off the Wheel

Description: This class is for all levels from beginning to advanced. We will work on the basics of hand building and “throwing” a pot on the wheel and continue from there according to each student’s abilities. Since the class is smaller is a lot of individual attention.

Description: Let Old Master art be your inspiration for drawing in all media. Subjects include portrait, figure, landscape, still life, and drapery spanning many periods and styles. Copy the works of Carravaggio, Gainsborough, Holbein, Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Watteau, Ve-lasquez and others.

Description: Emphasizing Old Master techniques for portraiture, the class will include general theory, drawing, and pastel instruction using instructor supplied photographs. Both basic and advanced concepts are addressed, stressing craftsmanship, proportion, form modeling, light and shadow effects, and optical color mixing.
